Set
in the 1980’s, young Carl Pitney is determined to farm in southern
Iowa. Not only did Carl get his chance when the neighbor’s farm
went up for sale, he also marries the neighbor’s daughter. Baling
hay, raising a family, withstanding storms, and making ends meet is no
simple task. In the end, Carl and Becky find a creative way to make a
living off their land. This musical is full of highly energized music,
putting into song the changing role of women, men, agriculture, and business.
